# Owner Alerts

> Add a verified phone number to receive urgent account alerts by SMS.

Owner Alerts lets you register a phone number that Caramel uses to send urgent account notifications — for example, if a critical integration fails or an action requires your immediate attention. This is separate from marketing messaging and is account-level only.

Navigate to **Settings → Alert phone number** or go to `?section=owner-alerts`.

## Add a phone number

1. Enter your phone number in international format, including the country code (for example `+14155552671`).
2. Click **Send code** — a one-time passcode is sent to the number you entered.
3. Enter the six-digit code in the verification field.
4. Click **Verify**.

Once verified, the number appears with a **Verified** badge.

> **Format requirement:** The number must be in E.164 international format — a `+` followed by the country code and number, with no spaces or dashes. Example: `+442071234567`.

## Change your phone number

Click **Change phone number** to start the process again. You will be asked to verify the new number before it replaces the existing one.

During verification, links to **Resend code** and **Use a different number** are available if you need them.
