Invite and manage team members

Add colleagues to your account so they can work in Caramel alongside you. Each person gets a role that controls what they can see and do — see Roles & permissions for a full breakdown.

Important Only Owners can invite members, change roles, and remove members.

  • You must be an Owner on the account.
  • Your plan must have an available seat. Starter and Lite plans include 1 seat. Upgrade to add more teammates — see Plans and features.
  1. Open Settings and select Team & Permissions from the sidebar (/business/:id?tab=settings&section=team).
  2. Click Invite Member.
  3. Enter the person’s Email Address.
  4. Select a role:
    • Owner — full access, including billing and team management.
    • Manager — access to all product features except billing and team management.
    • Staff — limited access; can view the Home channel mix panel only.
  5. Click Send Invite.

The recipient receives an email with a link to accept the invitation. The link is valid for 7 days.

  1. Open the invitation email and click the link.
  2. Sign in to an existing Caramel account, or create a new one with a password.
  3. After accepting, the person is added as an active team member with the role you chose.

Note If the recipient already has a Caramel account, they sign in with their existing credentials. If not, they set a new password during the acceptance flow.

If a teammate hasn’t accepted yet, their status shows as Pending in the team list.

  1. On the Team & Permissions page, find the pending member.
  2. Click the menu in the Actions column.
  3. Select Resend Invitation.

A new invitation email is sent. The original link is invalidated.

  1. On the Team & Permissions page, find the pending member.
  2. Click the menu in the Actions column.
  3. Select Remove.
  4. Confirm the action.

The invitation is cancelled immediately.

  1. On the Team & Permissions page, find the active member.
  2. Click the menu in the Actions column.
  3. Select Change Role.
  4. Choose the new role and click Change Role to confirm.

Important You cannot change your own role. A business must have at least one Owner at all times — Caramel will prevent you from removing the last Owner role.

  1. On the Team & Permissions page, find the member.
  2. Click the menu in the Actions column.
  3. Select Remove.
  4. For active members, type the person’s email address to confirm.
  5. Click Remove Member.

The person loses access immediately. This action cannot be undone, but you can invite them again later.

Important You cannot remove yourself from the account, and you cannot remove the last Owner.
