Where submissions go
Every form submission can do several things at once: create or update a customer record, feed data into connected tools, and trigger marketing automations. You control each destination independently.
Customers
Section titled “Customers”When Create customers from submissions is enabled in the General tab, each submission creates a new record in Customers — or updates an existing one if the email or phone matches.
Map which form fields contain the customer’s name, email, and phone using the dropdowns in the Customer Creation card. Fields you leave unmapped are still saved with the submission; they just aren’t promoted to the customer profile.
View submissions
Section titled “View submissions”All submissions are stored and viewable in Caramel regardless of which destinations are connected.
- Go to
/business/:id/forms. - Select your form.
- Open the Submissions tab.
Each row shows the submitted field values, the submission timestamp, and any source attribution (UTM parameters if present).
Export submissions
Section titled “Export submissions”From the Submissions tab, click Export to download all submissions as a CSV file.
Connected destinations
Section titled “Connected destinations”The Destinations tab in the form editor shows integrations that can receive each submission. Available destinations depend on which integrations you have connected under Integrations.
| Destination | What happens |
|---|---|
| Bitrix24 | Creates a CRM contact or lead in your Bitrix24 account |
| Mailchimp | Adds the submitter to an audience/list you choose |
| Google Sheets | Appends a row to a spreadsheet you choose |
Toggle each destination on or off per form. To connect a new integration, go to Integrations and connect it there first.
Note Some integrations (Slack, Zapier, Make, OneSignal) fire on every submission automatically once connected — they don’t appear as per-form toggles. Configure them once under Integrations.
Marketing automations
Section titled “Marketing automations”Plan The marketing automation destinations below require the Marketing Automation module. Contact your account owner or see Usage and limits if you don’t see this section.
In the Destinations tab, the Marketing automation card lets you connect each submission to your Journeys and Segments.
Subscribe to a list
Section titled “Subscribe to a list”Toggle Subscribe to a list to opt each submitter into one or more subscription groups. Check the groups you want. Consent is respected — only visitors who haven’t unsubscribed will be added.
Advanced options
Section titled “Advanced options”Click Advanced options to expand additional routing:
-
Add to marketing audience — Apply tags to each submitter so they land in any Segment that filters on those tags. Add tags using the tag input (for example:
newsletter_lead,webinar_signup). This is additive — existing tags on the customer are not removed. -
Trigger an automation event — Fire a named event that can start a Journey or Segment rule listening for it. Enter the event name (for example:
form_lead_captured). The event fires once per submission.
Submission notifications
Section titled “Submission notifications”Configure email or Telegram notifications for every new submission under the Notifications tab. See Create a form for setup steps.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Spam protection — Reduce junk submissions before they reach your destinations.
- Form analytics — See submission volume and conversion trends.
- Customers — Explore the customer records that submissions create.
- Journeys — Build automations triggered by form events.
