Connect Mailchimp

Connecting Mailchimp pulls contacts from a chosen audience into Caramel’s Customers list. Caramel layers on top of Mailchimp — your existing Mailchimp campaigns and templates stay as they are.

Plan Mailchimp counts as one integration slot. See Usage and limits.

  • You need access to your Mailchimp account to authorize via OAuth.
  • Decide which Mailchimp audience you want to sync. You’ll pick it after connecting.
  1. Open Integrations and find the Mailchimp card.
  2. Click Connect. A Mailchimp sign-in popup opens.
  3. Sign in and authorize access. The popup closes and the Mailchimp settings panel opens.

Mailchimp requires you to select one audience to sync. (Unlike Klaviyo, Mailchimp’s API scopes syncs to a specific list.)

  1. In the settings panel, click Select audience.
  2. Choose the audience from the dropdown.
  3. Click Save.
  1. Open the Field mapping section.
  2. Mailchimp merge fields (FNAME, LNAME, EMAIL, PHONE, and any custom merge tags) appear on the left. Map each to the matching Caramel customer field on the right.
  3. Click Save mapping.

Click Sync now to run an import. The panel shows how many contacts were processed, inserted, updated, skipped, and failed.

Note Caramel does not send emails through Mailchimp. Your Mailchimp sending remains unchanged.

  1. Open Integrations and click the Mailchimp card.
  2. Click Disconnect and confirm. Sync stops; existing Caramel customer records are not deleted.
